Trust & Compliance

At Bit of Justice, powered by solutions4values, we understand the importance of trust and compliance. We stand at the crossroads of civil rights, legal reform, and ethical tech. Here’s how we ensure your peace of mind and empower you with confidence.

We Are Not a Law Firm

Justice Engine empowers you with education, documentation, and rights tools — but does not replace licensed attorneys. This avoids confusion and builds credibility. Solutions4Values is transparent about not being a law firm and aligns with Rule 418, keeping all outreach educational, not solicitational.

Confidentiality & Safety

Your information is our priority. Intake data is encrypted, private, and survivor-safe. No data is shared or sold. You own your records and can download them anytime. Sensitive intake data is encrypted and never sold. Survivors always retain ownership of their records and can download their files at any time.

Alignment with SC Bar & Legal Standards

Our tools mirror South Carolina Appellate Court Rules (SCACR 404–418). We follow the same ethical guardrails that govern lawyers: confidentiality, recordkeeping, and limits on solicitation. This shows professional legitimacy and that your platform respects the law. Our systems are modeled on South Carolina Bar Rules (SCACR 404–418). By mirroring lawyer-level safeguards (recordkeeping, trust fund handling, complaint pathways), we show that compliance and ethics are built into the platform.

Financial Transparency & Safeguards

Inspired by IOLTA (Rule 412) and Financial Recordkeeping (Rule 417). Your Benefit Tracker and Case Archive use trust-style safeguards — meaning funds, records, and timelines are kept to a standard survivors can rely on. Justice Engine models its tools on IOLTA safeguards (Rule 412) and provides benefit trackers, ensuring users understand how funds should be managed.

Accountability & User Rights

If something goes wrong, users learn how to file complaints, track attorney discipline, and assert rights under SC’s disciplinary system. Justice Engine doesn’t hide behind technology — it teaches survivors how the system works. We integrate disciplinary system education (Rule 413) and provide FOIA/complaint templates, giving survivors a clear path to accountability.

Survivor-Led Design

Every tool is created with lived experience in mind. Survivors know we understand their vulnerabilities because we’ve faced the same systemic barriers. This shared perspective creates cultural competence and trauma-informed trust.
